“It will be controversial to call it Masjid…” Yogi Adityanath’s strong message amid Gyanvapi dispute

Amid the ongoing court case over Gyanvapi issue, UP CM Yogi Adityanath has made a big statement. In a recent podcast with ANI Editor Smita Prakash, CM Yogi said that it will be controversial to call Gyanvapi a ‘Masjid’. CM Yogi also said that Muslim side must accept that it was a “historical mistake” and should propose a resolution. He said, “There are visible evidences. Why Trishul is there in a mosque? We did not keep it. There are central security forces. Still such evidences are being ignored. There must be a proposal from the Muslim community that a historical mistake has happened and there should be a resolution for it. We have not initiated talks with Muslim community, but we will welcome if they initiate.” Allahabad High Court has asked the Archeological Survey of India not to start the survey of Gyanvapi site. The HC has reserved its decision till August 03 after hearing both sides and ASI’s survey has also been stayed till then.
