Imphal women outraged over viral clip, burn down house of one accused. CM Biren Singh also responds

Days after a video showcasing two women being paraded naked by a mob in Manipur went viral, several agitated women on July 21 burned down the house of the main accused of the heinous crime. Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh was quick to react to the house-burning incident. “People are protesting across the state regarding the incident and demanding the strictest punishment for the accused. Accused number one, who was arrested earlier, his house was burnt by women yesterday. Manipur society is against crime against women, they consider women as their mothers. This protest is to support the government to punish the accused. We have already arrested 4 accused and will arrest other. We will try to give them exemplary punishment, “ said N Biren Singh.
