When Pak soldiers wished they had officers like Indian Army: COAS General Pande reveals

COAS General Manoj Pande on June 14 recalled the 1971 war and how Indian Army treated the prisoners of war. He said, “After the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war, 90,000 prisoners of war were to be housed in camps in Central Command. Gen Bhagat ensured that everything authorized to the prisoners of war was made available in the true spirit of Geneva convention. In some cases, he even ordered accommodation occupied by own troops to be vacated for the prisoners. It hence was no surprise that Pakistani prisoners had only praise for the way they were treated in India and often remarked that they wished their own officers were like Indian officers.”
