“Apna Ghar Sambhaliye…”: Rajnath Singh on Pak’s reaction to India-US joint statement on terrorism

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh attended a National Security Conference of India in Jammu, where he slammed Pakistan on its reaction to the Indo-US joint statement condemning ‘cross-border terrorism’ and the use of terrorist proxies. “Countries using terrorism as state policy are now required to understand that this game needs to end now...many big nations have come together against terrorism...Now America too believes that terrorism is a global crime against humanity...This is not a small win because it has proved that whatever India is doing to end the terrorism sponsored by Pakistan is going on the right track, this will obviously make Pakistan feel rattled..." Meanwhile, USA and India on June 22, strongly condemned cross-border terrorism, and the use of terrorist proxies and called on Pakistan to take immediate action to ensure that no territory under its control is used for launching terrorist attacks, according to US-India joint statement. On June 23, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry sharply reacted to the US-India Joint Statement. Calling it “unwarranted, one-sided, and misleading”, Pakistan Foreign Ministry claimed that the statement has a “political overtone”. US President Joe Biden and Prime Minister Narendra Modi reiterated the call for concerted action against all UN-listed terrorist groups including Al-Qaida, ISIS/Daesh, Lashkar e-Tayyiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), and Hizb-ul-Mujhahideen.
