US lawmakers introduce bipartisan bill reaffirming Arunachal Pradesh as integral part of India

In a snub to China, US lawmakers introduced a bipartisan Senate resolution reaffirming Arunachal Pradesh as an Integral Part of India. US Senators Bill Hagerty (R-TN) and Jeff Merkley (D-OR) teamed up to introduce a bipartisan Senate resolution. The resolution by Senators stated that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India. It added that the US recognizes the McMahon Line as the international boundary between China-India. The resolution comes after the clashes in past few years between India and China along the LAC. The Senators’ resolution condemned China’s use of military force to change the status quo along the LAC. Furthermore, the resolution eulogised India for taking steps to defend itself against aggression and security threats from China. The resolution serves to strengthen U.S.-India bilateral partnership regarding defense, technology, economics, and people-to-people ties.
