Return of Khalistan? Here is what HM Amit Shah had said earlier

Thousands of people led self-styled preacher Amritpal Singh on Feb 23 reached Ajnala in Punjab. Amritpal, the chief of ‘Waris Punjab De’ organisation, has explicitly raised demands for ‘Khalistan’. Amritpal Singh and his sea of supporters reached the police station and demanded release of his aide Lovepreet Toofan. Amid heavy police deployment, Amritpal’s supporters, armed with guns and swords, broke the barricades. Punjab cops deployed in Ajnala were mere spectators as the massive crowd stormed into the police station. After situation spiralled, police decided to release Toofan as they received “enough evidence” from his supporters. While CM Mann-led government claims that law and order is in control, calls for Khalistan have grown louder. Amritpal Singh has openly invited experts to have a dialogue with him over his demands of Khalistan. As Khalistan sentiments are back in focus, HM Amit Shah had assured that this agenda won’t flourish. Punjab Cabinet Minister Kuldeep Dhaliwal said that the state residents must have faith in CM Bhagwant Mann.
