From rescue teams to relief material: India offers additional support to quake-ravaged ‘dost’ Turkey

A streak of powerful earthquakes pounded parts of Turkey and already war-torn Syria on Feb 06. India has been helping the war-ravaged Turkey and Syria in the best way possible. Two NDRF teams are already on the ground in Turkey, joining hands with local rescue teams to carry out search operations. IAF C17 flight with over 50 personnel from NDRF, a specially trained dog squad, and necessary equipment departed for Turkey on Feb 07. In addition, a third team is expected to leave for the disaster-struck nation by tonight on board an IAF plane. The Turkey-Syria earthquake death toll has exceeded the 11,000 mark, as per Reuters. Moreover, fatalities are expected to rise as many people are still buried beneath the wreckage.
