Northeast high priority for PM Modi, Rs 2000 crores allotted for airport: Jyotiraditya Scindia
New Delhi: Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya M Scindia on April 08, said that Northeast regions has been high priority for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He further mentioned that Rs 2000 crores allocated for airport infrastructure in the Northeast region.
“Northeast region is a high-priority region for the PM. In the last 2-3 years, we've developed a new airport terminal at Agartala, a new terminal coming up at Holongi, runway at Tezu being upgraded. 18 more airstrips/heliports being developed in the region,” he said.
The minister also said, “A plan of about Rs 2000 crores is in place for airport infrastructure in the Northeast region. UDAAN has been a successful scheme for the region. We have given priority to Krishi Udaan here.”
