Jalandhar (Punjab): Former Punjab Congress Chief Navjot Singh Sidhu on April 17 raised the demand for compensation due to the low yield of wheat. He also informed that there has been a shortage of wheat of about 25 to 30 per cent in the International market due to the Ukraine-Russia War. “Machhiwara farmers told me that yield (of wheat) is very low this time. They asked me to raise their demand for compensation. Due to the Russia-Ukraine crisis, there is a shortage of wheat of about 25 to 30 per cent in the international market, the rate increased,” Sidhu said.
