‘Sulli Deals’ app mastermind Aumkareshwar Thakur arrested from Indore: Delhi Police

New Delhi: Delhi Police on January 08 arrested a man named Aumkareshwar Thakur from Indore for allegedly creating Sulli Deals application last year. The application hosted doctored photographs and objectionable comments targeting Muslim women. DCP KPS Malhotra, Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) on January 09 said, “During the interrogation of 'Bulli Bai' app case mastermind Neeraj Bishnoi, we found evidence that helped us arrest Aumkareshwar Thakur who wrote codes for Sulli Deals app.” “Bulli Bai accused Neeraj Bishnoi was in contact with Sulli Deals App Creator,” Malhotra added. However, Aumkareshwar's father Akhilesh Thakur said, “2 officers took Aumkareshwar along with his laptop and phone. Later he called me to inform that he is being taken to Delhi. He is a web designer by profession and is being falsely accused. I will meet the officials in Delhi.” Further investigation is underway.
